Notes of special interest: Various NYCTA GMC "New Look", ranging from 1966 Model 5303's to 1973 5309A and 5310A's were sent back to the Blitz Corporation of Chicago for complete overhaul/rebuilding. Upon returning to NYC as 5000 series buses, they were thereafter known as "Blitz Buses". The bus featured hard, blue longitudinal seating. The bus was designated as the last non-wheelchair lift-equipped bus to operated for NYC Transit. It was the focus of the announcement of a 100% accessible fleet at a 1995 press confernace held in front of NYC Transit Headquarters.
